With people in self-quarantine in order to prevent the spread of the novel corona virus, online gaming companies in India are witnessing a significant increase in the number of users on their platforms.
The Hindu has been informed that over the past week, there has been about a 10 percent gain in the number of concurrent users on their platform.
Between March 2 and March 18, MPL (Mobile Premier League), a mobile e-sports platform saw a 400 per cent increase in the number of daily game plays for the WCC (World Cricket Championship) game.
Social gaming platform, Hello Play, run by Mech Mocha, a Bengaluru-based company, also saw a 15 percent increase in the time spent per daily active user, the newspaper reports.
